Late yesterday John and I had a consultation appointment with Dr Chen. This is where he checks to how fat your wallet is. Kidding aside, we liked him very much. He is young, of course, who isn't in our lives? Dr Chen was very personable and has a great sense of humor. He does what is called Mohs Micrographic Surgery. They will take off a layer of skin and let the patient sit for 1 1/2- 2 hours while they look at it and if they see cancer cells--- repeat. It is repeat and repeat until they get a clean cut. One could be in his office all day. A friend in the park was there for 9 hours. This method results in less cutting and a greater success. The cancer is on top of his shoulder so in a bad place to have a deep cut. The procedure is scheduled on January 28th. We think we are in the right state to treat skin cancer.
This afternoon K has an appt with her neurologist. We are getting her place looking good. I emptied more boxes yesterday. We have some more books to find a place for. The pictures need to be hung, preferably before John's surgery! My plan is to finish up there this week end.
Then we will prepare for Gayle and Gavin's visit. Gotta' get out the big wheel, size it up a size and get it cleaned off.
