Our poor cactus is coming out today. The wind has really beat it up. It all most looks like it could scrape Helen's car top when she backs out. She wouldn't know. She has scraped off her side mirrors and not replaced them so maybe doesn't know they are gone? We are assuming from past cacti removal that this one is very heavy and full of water. One thing for sure it is full of thorns. I will have the camera and pliers out. The pliers to pull out the thorns embedded in people to near by.
This is the base and some of the stems have broken in the wind.
This is the replacement. It is a century cactus and is a volunteer. It has to be moved and will get quite large. We have not decided if we will move it now or in the fall. Probably doesn't make much difference. If it dies in the summer heat, there is always another volunteer coming up.
The little green oranges on the orange tree. It has quite a few this year. Usually they don't make it through the summer. I am not sure what happens to them but really don't care as they aren't very tasty. Our neighbor Al has very good oranges and we'd rather eat his. And he delivers!
