Cacti and Parties

The cactus with the long flower stem is a Agave Lophantha. It being of the Agave family, like our Century cactus, it will die after flowering. So sad. It has not bloomed yet. We are deciding what to plant there when it's gone. We get over the sorrow of a dead cactus real fast. I think it will be a century cactus as that is what is on the other side in front. A friend found the name of the Agave Lohantha on a blog. It is a great blog all about plants written by a Master Gardener. She has some beautiful pictures on her blog. Check it out.
Wednesday we took the bus trip to Globe to the casino. It is a scenic trip and enjoyable. The casino was very smoky and very few people there. Nobody from our bus (park) won anything to brag about.
Last night was a party at R & M's. No names again. R made ribs on the grill. He was carrying a plate of done ribs to the serving table and pretended to trip--and really did fall. The ribs flew. P, no cabbage in the corned beef and cabbage P, tried to catch the plate of ribs. I mean forget about R, save the food! She did, mostly on her pants leg. But in trying to catch the ribs she lost her balance on her chair and went over back wards. No one was hurt, no 911 call necessary, the ribs were good with a real outdoor taste. This was all in the first 15 minutes of this party!! This was a good party. No pictures, but there is talk of banning cameras at parties.
