Maybe a bloom?

I think maybe this cactus is going to bloom. It is next to the sidewalk leading up to the front porch. I don't know much about cacti but I will keep an eye and a camera on this one.
A couple years ago our century cactus in the front bloomed and then it dies and then we pay someone to take it out. The century bloom was very tall and spectacular.
